北昆士兰州最大的城市凯恩斯来说，也大不到哪里去，顶多是一个大一点的小镇，小县城的规模而已。从凯恩斯市区的火车站或者乘坐缆车均可以直达库兰达小镇，这也算是小镇的一大特色。掩映在热带雨林中的库兰达小镇也是别有一番的风味，主要的景点有许多，包括看考拉，袋鼠等著名的澳洲土著动物，还有蝴蝶博物馆，我之前可是去过陕西杨凌的西北农业大学的蝴蝶博物馆的，里面的蝴蝶据说是亚洲之最，故而这个蝴蝶博物馆真心不能引起我的兴趣来。热带雨林中瀑布是相当之多的，在英语中，瀑布分两种，而我们只是笼统的全称之为瀑布，事实上，比较窄一下的，落差比较大的那种，英语称之为瀑布(fall)，应该是以庐山瀑布为代表吧。而比较宽一些，落差不是很大，并且呈现阶梯状向下倾泻的话，称之为瀑布（cascade)，以西游记曾经取景过的黄果树类似的均属此类。6月份去的时候正好是南半球的秋冬季节，但还好，凯恩斯临近热带，库兰达也是热带雨林的气候，倒是
